Australia is getting set to take the caravan show 2026 to a whole new level, with a record-breaking demand and one of the healthiest caravan camping markets in years.
The numbers don’t lie – in 2024 there were 15.2 million caravan and camping trips made in this country, and they raked in $14 billion in spend, with a whopping 57.1 million visitor nights and another $10.6 billion going into commercial park expenditure.
The industry as a whole has ballooned to a massive $27.1 billion, thanks in large part to 2023’s results of 15.3 million trips, 60.7 million nights, $10.7 billion in spend, 850,000 RVs registered, and a staggering 31,289 RV units coming off the production line.
This kind of stability is tending to boost our expectations for 2026 and we’re now looking at 15.0 – 15.5 million trips, 58-62 million nights, and a $15-16 billion spend on caravan camping as a whole.
NSW has seen a real surge in demand, with a massive 19.7 million caravan-camping nights recorded in 2023 (that’s a 14% YoY jump) and contributing to $10.9 billion across the nation, with an impressive 89% of those nights spent in regional areas. The bigger 2026 shows are starting to reflect this.
The Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow 2026 is set to bring in 45,000-48,000 visitors, following on from 48,000 (2023) and 43,500 (2024), but 2025 showed promise with a visitors number just 2% off the pre-Covid peaks.
The Queensland Supershow is expected to go off the charts with 40,000 – 42,000 visitors, up from a respectable 32,199 (2024) to a less respectable 38,159 (2025).
With families making up a healthy chunk of caravan-goers, at about 35%, and the 35-50 age group representing an even bigger chunk at 46% we can expect 2026 to be the strongest caravan show season this country has ever seen.
